There are plenty of lovely circular walks based around this chic riverside inn. Famously dog-friendly, and ideally located opposite Green Park, you’ll get pedigree service at this Mayfair bar, which boasts a range of “dogtails” specially created for canine consumption – including the Bubbly Bow Wow or maybe a good G&T, which is fresh ginger and tonic (smithandwhistle.com).

If you fancy a round with the hound, try this cool bar and kitchen based in a former jewellery workshop, which has previously hosted a “pup crawl” featuring prizes and doggy goody bags.
