SXSW: a band’s eye view of the festival – in pictures

British folk rockers Turin Brakes are at SXSW in Austin and performed at the festival last night. We asked them to capture the atmosphere as they see it, letting them take over the Guardian Instagram feed for yesterday and today, to get a band’s eye view of the buzz on the streets

A guy giving out free hugs at SXSW — We landed in Austin last night and strode straight into the madness of SXSW. This guy was giving out free hugs to all, and we immediately understood that this festival seems to be more of a multicultural mash-up than most things we've experienced in the UK – hip hoppers, Indy kids, emos and dreamos getting along just fine and dandy!
