Passage to Islam
From Indian classical music to the game of kabbadi, Muslim culture will be celebrated at Birmingham's Eid Mela festival tomorrow. Some 50 stalls will sell everything from food to silk saris.

Forbidden treasures
A sacred gold cup adorned with rubies, sapphires and pearls, and a portrait by Giuseppe Castiglione of the Quianlong Emperor are among the treasures from the Forbidden City in Beijing, on view in Edinburgh from next Saturday.
