The warmer weather is continuing across the whole of Europe, bringing a mix of light snow and sun. In North America, very low temperatures are still ensuring that snow quality remains high.
Austria
Some Austrian resorts have spring conditions, with pistes hard in the morning and softening later, but generally condi tions are the best they have been all season, particularly in the Arlberg resorts, such as St Anton (****) and Lech (****). Further east, the lower pistes at resorts such as Zell am See (***) are becoming slushy by the end of the day.
France
Throughout the Tarantaise Valley the skiing is excellent at the moment, with La Plagne (****) and Les Arcs (****) both offering superb snow quality up high.
Switzerland
Most resorts are good, but it is best to aim high. Zermatt (****) has great skiing throughout.
Italy
Sauze d'Oulx (*****) has fantastic conditions after a big dump, but beware of avalanches. While Cortina (**) has plenty of runs open, the lower pistes are poor.
Andorra
Soldeu (****) and Pas de la Casa (****) continue to lead the way in Europe in terms of quality of snow cover.
US
Despite not having the regular snowfall that they are used to, Colorado resorts such as Breckenridge (****) and Aspen (****) still have excellent conditions due to the incredibly low temperatures. On the east coast, Smuggler's Notch (**) and Killington (**) have good cover only on runs with snowmaking facilities.
Canada
The resorts in the Rockies such as Whistler (*****) and Fernie (*****) are beginning to get more snow after a week of sun. In Banff, Sunshine (*****) continues to boast fantastic conditions.
