I'm thinking about a few days at a spa, but I don't know where to begin.

Lots of spa directories are beginning to spring up. You could try thalassa.com/gb/if you're interested in French seawater treatments, resortsonline.com/spa/ if you're in the Champneys league, or thespasdirectory.com for British spas. Alternatively, you could consult Spaluxury.com, which will do the booking for you.

How luxurious is it?

The 35 centres in Britain, Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean and the Far East are price-coded. An inexpensive spa is something of an oxymoron, but it's easy to see the ones you might be able to afford: the Mediterranean islands, Spain and Portugal are generally cheapest. Flights aren't included: you normally arrange them yourself.

No: I meant, are they luxurious enough?

The Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay in Bali certainly appears to be. Each guest has their own villa with three balconies and a private plunge pool. It costs £389 per night, and the spa treatments are extra. Or there's Babington House in Somerset (from £600 for a two-night stay).

Will there be more spas added soon?

Apparently. Regular special offers are also promised.
