Brittany Ferries (0870 908 1298) has two-day cruises to Spain from 13 March through to November to mark the reintroduction of its Plymouth-Santander route. With up to five hours ashore as well as a host of onboard attractions the crossings, on Mondays and Wednesdays, cost £99 inclusive of cabin accommodation. Also included in the price are dining vouchers worth £30 to be used in on board restaurants.

Paris Antiques Fair takes place on 16 and 17 March at The Stade Charlety in the south east of the city with over 250 exhibitors. Three nights for two in Brittany with self-drive specialist Motours (01892 686666) until 15 April (excluding Easter weekend) at the two-star Hotel du Château, a 30-minute drive from St Malo. Including breakfast and Dover-Calais Hoverspeed crossings for a car and two people the cost is £117.

Sunflowers in Amsterdam at the Van Gogh exhibition until 2 June. £419 is the cost of some early season sunshine on a seven night break to Antalya in Turkey with Metak Holidays (020 7935 6961) available throughout April. This includes scheduled flights from Stansted, transfers and accommodation with breakfast at the five star Sheraton Hotel. This hotel has direct access to the beach via a footbridge and also boasts indoor and outdoor pools and a health and beauty centre. Add an extra £24 for flights from Glasgow.

Walking in Andalucia combines Moorish Granada with the slopes of the Alpujarras and peaks of Sierra Nevada. With scenery that's straight off a postcard Mount Tremblant in Quebec provides top skiing. Club Pavilion (0870 241 0427) currently have a seven night holiday at the three star Hotel Club Tremblant costing £549 based on four sharing a self-catering studio. The flights are from Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Birmingham or Glasgow and include transfers based on departures on 6 or 13 April, the last two weeks of the skiing season.

Three nights in San Francisco followed by three nights in Los Angeles and finally four nights in Las Vegas. Cost covers United Airlines flights from Heathrow, the two internal flights and accommodation which is on a room only basis. Add £40 for flights from Manchester.

Giza is a 40-minute drive from the centre of Cairo.
