Have camera, will travel? Then Guardian Travel's annual photography competition is for you. It's an opportunity for you to capture the essence of your journeys around the world, and for us to showcase your work online and – at the end of the year – in an exhibition at Guardian HQ.
And the prize is pretty great too.
The winner of each month's competition (who must be a UK resident) will see their shot mounted and displayed in the end-of-year exhibition for the public at the Guardian's offices in London, while the overall winner will go on an amazing 11-night adventure to KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa courtesy of specialist tour operator Africa and Beyond and Tourism KwaZulu-Natal. From the Drakensburg mountains to the beauty of Uhmlanga rocks, you will have the opportunity to explore the incredible landscape and shoot pictures to be featured in a future edition of Guardian Travel. The trip includes flights, car hire, all meals, accommodation and tours where applicable. You can read more about the details here.
There will be a different theme for each month and you will need to enter your shots via GuardianWitness. You won't be able to enter months in advance but to give you a little time to prepare, here are all the themes for 2014:
- February: street life
- March: architecture
- April: spring
- May: wild
- June: solitude
- July: beach
- August: festivals
- September: the great outdoors
- October: road trips
- November: work
- December: colour
To enter February's competition you'll need to head over to GuardianWitness via this link. And don't forget to read the terms and conditions.
