Be vigilant, but don't cancel Kenya trips
The Foreign Office has not advised Britons to cancel trips to Kenya despite the decision this week to close the British High Commission in Nairobi after it received a terrorist threat. It says holidaymakers should be vigilant, especially in public places such as hotels, restaurants and shopping malls, after a car bomb in Mombasa 10 days ago killed 16 people.

Mallorca can be done
Mallorca has been added to the destinations featured by Can Be Done (020 8907 2400), a travel company which caters for people with disabilities. The VoraNova complex has 305 studios and apartments, of which 63 are fully adapted for wheelchair users. Prices this winter start at £295 a week.

Stumped for gift ideas at Christmas? British Airways has introduced gift vouchers called British Airways Escape Tickets, with prices ranging from £59 for a UK flight to £2,999 for a return on Concorde to New York.

Bushfires in Oz
Although no tourist areas are currently affected by bush fires in Australia's New South Wales, the region's tourist board said holidaymakers planning to stay outside Sydney should check the fire brigade's website regularly for updates on www.nswfb.nsw.gov.au.
