From record store employee to floor-filling DJ, Sam Divine worked hard while trying to make her name in the coveted Ibiza scene, "doing anything she could to stay on the island". So after years working seasons there, steadily earning residencies at the top clubs, she has a good idea of what a summer party should look like. And this mix she's put together – full of vocal hooks and soulful house – is for the people that flock to the clubbing mecca each year.
"When people go to Ibiza they want to have a good time," she says. "Some people save all year round for one week of partying and going crazy, so I wanted to do a mix that was upbeat, fun and that represented what I think is at the heart of Ibiza: proper house music!"
Her stand out track on the mix is Mowgli feat. Amber Jolene – ‘Back In The Day'. "It actually came out a couple of years ago," she says. "But it’s just got that timeless quality. And it’s perfect for summer: beautiful vocals, chilled groove – total beachside house fodder!"
