We are offering the chance to win a VIP ski weekend to see the Freeride World Tour competition final in Verbier, Switzerland, in March.
The Swatch Freeride World Tour, right, is the ultimate extreme ski and snowboard event, where the most daring sportspeople compete to ride the craziest line over cliffs and down steeps in some of the world's most challenging resorts.
This year's event has legs in Revelstoke (Canada), Courmayeur, Chamonix, Kirkwood (California), and Fieberbrunn (Austria), with the final in Verbier. We have a weekend ski trip for one winner and their friend, to the Verbier event on 22-25 March, including an off-piste freeride lesson, including equipment hire, with the Freeride World Tour Club, a new extreme ski and snowboard school. Entrants should be intermediate level or above, and able to travel on those dates.
The prize includes: flights from London City to Geneva with British Airways, departing 22 March and returning on 25 March; two first-class Swiss Transfer train tickets to Verbier courtesy of Swiss Travel System; a room for two (twin or double) in a hotel in Verbier; two-day lift-passes, equipment hire; access to see the competition on 23 March; entry to a VIP party; and a one-day off-piste freeriding ski or snowboard lesson with the Freeride World Tour Club.

Terms and conditions
1. The Freeride World Tour prize draw (the "Prize Draw") is open to residents of the UK aged 18 and over who are of intermediate or above level of skiing or snowboarding.
2. The Prize Draw is not open to employees or agencies of Guardian News & Media Limited ("GNM" or the "Promoter"), their group companies or family members, freelance contributors to GNM, or anyone else connected to the Prize Draw.
3. Entrants into the Prize Draw shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
4. To enter the Prize Draw you must send a postcard with your name, address, phone number and email address on it to: Freeride World Tour Competition, Travel, The Guardian, Kings Place, 90 York Way, London, N1 9GU. No purchase is necessary. If you have any questions about how to enter or otherwise in connection with the Prize Draw, please email us at travel@theguardian.com with "Freeride World Tour competition" in the subject line.
5. Only one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed. You are responsible for the cost of sending your Prize Draw entry to us. The winner shall be the person whose name and contact details are given on the postcard which is selected in accordance with paragraph 10 below.
6. GNM accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt by GNM.
7. The Prize Draw opens at 6am on 9 February 2013 and closes at 11:59am on 25 February 2013. Entries received outside this time period will not be considered.
8. The winner will receive a weekend trip to Verbier during the Freeride World Tour final between 22-25 March 2013, for them and one other person (who must also be over the age of 18), which includes:
Two economy return flights from London City to Geneva airports with British Airways, departing London City on 22 March 2013 on flight BA8743 at 09:10 (which arrives in Geneva at 11:45), and returning on 25 March 2013 on flight BA8744 which departs from Geneva at 12:30 (and arrives at London City at 13:05). Flights are inclusive of all taxes, fees and carrier charges;
Two First Class Swiss Transfer Tickets (rail tickets) from Geneva to Verbier courtesy of Swiss Travel System;
A room for two (winner's choice of twin or double) in a two-star hotel in Verbier on a bed and breakfast basis for three nights;
Two two-day lift-passes for the 4 Valleys ski area for 23 and 24 March 2013;
Ski or snowboard hire for 2 people on 23 and 24 March 2013;
Access for 2 people to see the Freeride World Tour competition in Verbier on 23 March 2013;
Entry for 2 people to the Freeride World Tour VIP party (food and drinks included) in Verbier on 23 March 2013; and
Subject to paragraph 9(b), a one-day ski or snowboard lesson for 2 people on off-piste freeriding with the Freeride World Tour Club in the 4 Valleys ski area.
Only one winner per household. GNM and its suppliers accept no responsibility for any costs associated with the prize that are not expressly included in the prize. In particular, the winner and their companion will need to arrange and pay for their own transport to and from London City airport, food and drinks, passports, visas (if applicable) and travel insurance sufficient for the type of travel and activities referred to above.
9. (a) The winner agrees that he/she is physically capable of participating in the off-piste ski or snowboard lesson referred to in paragraph 8, and agrees to be solely responsible for his/her actions during the lesson. The winner and/or their companion may be required to complete a medical assessment form solely for the purpose of the Promoter and/or its supplier(s) determining that the winner and/or their companion is/are capable of participating in the lesson. Without prejudice to paragraphs 19 and 21, GNM and its supplier(s), their officers, employees and agents, are not responsible for any injury or illness that the winner and/or their companion may suffer as a result of his/her participation in the lesson (unless caused due to the negligence of GNM and/or its supplier(s). The winner accepts that should any medical or physical condition arise prior to the lesson which is likely to affect his/her ability to participate in the lesson, the winner will withdraw from the lesson. The winner may also be required to accept the prize supplier's terms and conditions as a condition of participating in the lesson (a copy of which can be provided on request). The winner's companion for the lesson will be required to agree to this paragraph 9(a) before participating in the lesson.
(b) The winner and their companion will be required to demonstrate to a representative of the Freeride World Tour Club's reasonable satisfaction that they are able to ski or snowboard to an intermediate or above level before they participate in the off-piste freeriding lesson included as part of the prize. If, in the reasonable opinion of the Freeride World Tour Club's representative, the winner and/or their companion are not able to ski or snowboard to the required level, then the winner and/or their companion may not be permitted to take part in the freeriding lesson. No substitute prize will be offered in this situation.
10. The winner will be selected by way of a random draw from all entries received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The draw will take place on or after 5.00pm on 25 February 2013.
11. The winner will be notified by phone on or after 5.00pm on 25 February 2013 and given details of how to claim their prize. If a winner does not respond to GNM within 5 days of being notified of their win, the winner's prize will be forfeited and GNM shall be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above (and that winner will have to respond to notification of their win within 5 days or else they will also forfeit their prize). GNM shall be entitled to repeat this process until a winner has responded to GNM within the 5 day period referred to. If GNM has not been able to contact a winner in accordance with the process set out in this paragraph 11 by 9am on 12 March 2013, GNM will be entitled to select another winner at random. If GNM cannot reach that winner when GNM calls them then that winner will also forfeit their prize and GNM will be entitled to select another winner at random. GNM shall be entitled to continue in this manner until GNM has been able to reach a winner by telephone. If GNM has not been able to reach any winner by 12pm on Thursday March 14 2013, the prize will be forfeited altogether. If a winner rejects their prize or the entry is invalid or in breach of these terms, the winner's prize will be forfeited and GNM shall be entitled to select another winner.
12. The prize trip will be arranged with the winner on or before 14 March 2013. The winner must ensure that on or before this date they and their companion have provided all information to, and taken all steps specified by, the prize supplier(s) as are reasonable required by the prize supplier(s) to enable them to provide the prize.
13. The name and county of the winner can be obtained after 14 March 2013 by sending a stamped addressed envelope to the following address: Travel, Guardian News & Media Limited, Kings Place, 90 York Way, London N1 9GU.
14. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and not redeemable for cash or any other prize.
15. Subject to the remainder of this paragraph 15, GNM reserves the right to substitute the prize with an alternative prize of similar value in the event that the original prize offered is not available. If the Freeride World Tour competition on 23 March 2013 is cancelled or postponed for any reason, the winner will forfeit that part of the prize and no substitute for that part of the prize will be offered.
16. The winner may be required to take part in promotional activity related to the Prize Draw and the winner shall participate in such activity on the Promoter's reasonable request. The winner consents to the use by the Promoter and its related companies, both before and after the closing date of the Prize Draw for an unlimited time, of the winner's voice, image, photograph and name for publicity purposes (in any medium, including still photographs and films, and on the internet, including any websites hosted by the Promoter and its related companies) and in advertising, marketing or promotional material without additional compensation or prior notice and, in entering the Prize Draw, all entrants consent to the same.
17. The Promoter shall use and take care of any personal information you supply to it as described in its privacy policy, a copy of which can be seen at theguardian.com/help/privacy-policy, and in accordance with data protection legislation. By entering the Prize Draw, you agree to the collection, retention, usage and distribution of your personal information in order to process and contact you about your Prize Draw entry, and for the purposes outlined in paragraph 13 above.
18. GNM may pass entrants' details to third parties and/or otherwise engage third party providers in connection with the Prize Draw where the third party is acting on GNM's behalf for the purposes of administering the Prize Draw and/or any subsequent publicity, and/or as otherwise required by law.
19. GNM accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the Prize Draw or accepting the prize. GNM further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to your or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the Prize Draw. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude the liability of GNM under law for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury resulting from its negligence
20. GNM reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Prize Draw with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its reasonable control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of GNM in all matters relating to the Prize Draw is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
21. GNM and its suppliers shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its/their obligations relating to this Prize Draw where the failure is caused by something outside its/their reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.
22. The Prize Draw and these Terms and Conditions will be governed by English law and entrants to the Prize Draw submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
