Route notes
A self-styled "tranquil green corridor" starting in the industrial heartland of East Belfast and leading out to Comber, a small town to the south-east of the city. Following the disused Belfast to Comber railway, the route takes in important local woodland and wetland areas along the river Enler.
Terrain and gradients
All offroad, traffic-free and flat.
How to get there/away
The start is within rideable distance of Belfast Central, Bridge End and Sydenham railway stations, but there is no station at the end.
What to see
The newly opened Titanic Belfast, where this route starts, is a £100m attraction built on the slipways from which the ill-fated liner was launched in 1912. It includes exhibition spaces, an underwater exploration theatre and recreations of the ship's decks and cabins. Look out for the statue of Belfast-born Narnia author CS Lewis towards the beginning of the route. Further along the ride come views of the Stormont parliament buildings. Towards the end of the route look out for Scrabo Tower in the distance, a turreted 19th-century monument.
Watering holes
There are pitstops along the route near King's Square and Dundonald, and upon reaching Comber, head to Rosie Scott (40 Castle Street, Newtownards, BT23 5DZ).
