How to get hitched tastefully in Vegas

Where in Las Vegas can you have a simple, civil marriage ceremony (preferably with minimal tackiness)?

· I would certainly recomend The Little Church of the West (The Little Church). A perfect ceremony with surprisingly little tack!

· You don't want to get married by Elvis in a drive-thru chapel? A good way to start is by going direct to some of the hotels on the strip. Lots of them have their own chapels and can therefore organise your reception at the same venue. For example, I stayed at the Monte Carlo hotel (Hotel Monte Carlo) a few years ago. It is a four-star hotel right on the strip, next to New York New York. They had weddings going on in their chapel while I was there. If you visit their site, you'll find out who to contact for more details and costs. Although I have not had a wedding there, I do know that you will be spoilt for choice. I can highly recommend Monte Carlo as a hotel, so I imagine their chapel and wedding services would be of a high standard, too. You will need to be in Las Vegas usually three days prior to the wedding. There is some law about having to be in a country for a certain amount of time prior to using a registry for a wedding. Alternatively, you could use one of the UK tour operators that offer wedding services; for example, Kuoni (Kuoni). There would be a considerable mark up, no doubt - but it would be stress-free. Good luck!

· A couple of weeks ago, a lady wrote to you asking about getting married in Las Vegas without any fuss. Hope I'm not too late to recommend the excellent Las Vegas Weddings. My fella and I got wed at the end of October this year in Red Rock Canyon, just outside of Las Vegas, thanks to Pat and Carleen at Las Vegas Weddings. Everything went perfectly on the day, and in the months leading up to it, they were extremely helpful and supportive - always replying to emails and phone calls promptly, and offering lots of advice about related things like flights and rooms, receptions and restaurants. Although we did have a bit of fuss (limo, video, photographer), looking at the website, it seems you can have as much or as little as you like, practically anywhere you choose in Vegas. I really could not recommend them more highly. Booking the whole thing over the Internet and telephone was nerve-wracking, as so much could have gone wrong, but nothing did, thanks to them.
