France: Spend Easter cruising on a self-drive boat on the Canal du Nivernais in Burgundy. Franceafloat (08700 110 538, franceafloat.com) is offering four-day breaks from Good Friday until the end of April. Two cabin boats for four people cost £400, with 36ft cruisers for up to six people costing £550. The prices include return Channel crossing with Hoverspeed for a car and passengers.

US: Save £95 off the brochure price of a four nights' room-only in April at The Hotel Provincial in New Orleans. The new price is £429pp including return Delta flight from Gatwick or Manchester and a paddle-steamer cruise on the Mississippi. America Direct (0870 8890827).

Cyprus: One week's B&B at the Coral Beach Resort departing between March 25 and 30, costs from £514 per adult (children under 16 sharing an adults' room from £260), two weeks from £783. For two children sharing a room together, the price is from £444 per child for one week and from £643 for two weeks. Caribbean: For departures until March 20, seven nights' all-inclusive at the four-star St James's Club, Antigua, costs from £1,139pp (saving £396pp) including return flights from London Gatwick and transfers. British Airways Holidays (0870 4423815).

Zambia: Steppes Africa (01285 650011, steppesafrica.co.uk) is offering an Easter family safari from March 27 to April 5 for £1,630 per adult and £985 per child including international and domestic flights, transfers and transport, full-board accommodation at Robin Pope Safari Camp in the Luangwa Valley, children's activities and guided game viewing.

Peru: Bales Worldwide (0870 2413208) is offering up to £200pp off its 12-day Treasures of the Incas tour departing April 8. The new price, from £1,845pp, includes flights, transfers, accommodation and some meals.

Asia: Departing Istanbul on July 6, Dragoman (01728 861133, dragoman.co.uk) has organised a seven-week overland adventure from Istanbul to Tashkent, including a 15-day exploratory foray through the mountains of Kyrgystan. The tour costs £2,100pp plus $1,075 (£741) kitty, including transport, accommodation (40% camping/60% hotels) and all camp meals. Shorter sections of the tour are also available. Flights are not included but are available through Dragoman. Due to visa requirements, the tour must be booked at least 10 weeks before departure.

Ecuador: Last Frontiers (01296 653000, lastfrontiers.com) has cut the price of its 12-day tour departing April 3 from £2,615 to £2,145 per adult and £1,250 for children under 12. The price includes a seven-night full-board cruise around the Galapagos Islands on a 120ft, three-masted sailing yacht, three nights' B&B in Quito and return flights from Heathrow, Manchester or Birmingham.
